We’ve all been there in need of a fresh cut… wolfing like we know we shouldn’t be. So we head down to the local barber shop and what do we get… You already know! We face one if not all of these five things!
Top Five Things People Hate About Barbershops
Long time waiting.
It almost seems like your whole neighborhood knows when you plan on going to the barber shop. Every time you roll up to get your Ceasar freshened up you have to endure the long wait times sitting next to dudes who smell like they’ve been running full court in the hot sun all day. Waiting is bad enough, but it’s even worse when you have an appointment or scheduled time to get your cut and your barber has that one client before you that decides he wants the works or this ridiculous hair cut that takes forever to create. Or what about you (and every other client your barber has) getting that text or fb message from your barber saying “come through empty seat” but when you get in there’s a line 5-10 deep waiting!
Rash City
Oh yeah you know you got one before… That nasty rash on your face because your barber didn’t sterilize his clippers and other tools properly. You wash your hair and keep yourself clean but not all the people in your neighborhood do. When your barber cuts them before you and doesn’t have time to clean his tools guess where those nasty germs go… YUP on you and in your pores… Hence, Rash City!
Too Much Talk
We all know the barber shop is like a gentlemen’s club or grown man hangout, but sometimes the conversations are just plain dumb, or a bit extra. We all like arguing sports or why a rapper is the king. But can the conversation ever change. Why is it that two weeks ago we all agreed that LeBron is no Michael Jordan (yet), Kendrick Lamar’s verse on control was one of the greatest verses ever, and Biggie still is the “King of New York”. Sometimes you just want to get a darn hair cut without having to be one of the great debaters.
Jacked up Swag
So you sit and wait 2 hours to get your cut and sit in the chair for 30 minutes all eager to see your “1 on the side, 1.5 on the top “, but your barber was so caught up in the 2 week old debate in the shop he gives you the wrong cut! So know you have to wait 2-3 week before he’s able to fix your do.
Breaking The Bank
Ok some people may say $10 – $20 a cut isn’t much, but when you start looking at it from a longterm stand point all those dollar bills add up. When you throw in the $3- $5 tip you’re looking at a cool $400 – $500 a year, double or triple that if you’re paying for your sons to get cuts too.
We throw the question: What’s the most frustrating thing about going to the barber shop? on our Facebook page and interestingly enough the responses we got where dead on point across the board. Here are some of the responses we got:
Louis Amequohi Shorter Having to wait 2hrs for a cut
Jeremiah Curley Oh yeah 15$-$20 is too much for a fade
Michael Martinez I know I mean ten dollars is good enough, (but) I be tipping 6 dollars too!
Dion Cherry You have an appointment, arrive a few minutes early and not only is a customer in the chair but another customer is waiting ahead of you.
Julian Wilson knowing that u could of cut your own hair using the self cut system and still comes out the same. Cutting it the way u want.
Until next time… Stay Fresh, 365!
